Construction on the $275 million Verrado Marketplace, which will bring more than 50 restaurants and stores to Buckeye, began Wednesday.

Phoenix-based Vestar, the developer of Tempe Marketplace and Desert Ridge Marketplace, is the developer of the mall, which will be an open-air shopping center like the company’s other major projects.
